Basketball Game Preview: Cambridge Christian Lancers vs. Out-of-Door Academy Thunder

Cambridge Christian is a perfect 5-0 against Out-of-Door Academy since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lancers will head out to challenge the Thunder at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cambridge Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Winthrop College Prep Academy last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lancers took a blow against the Spartans, falling 81-38. The loss put an end to the Lancers' undefeated start to the season.

Despite their loss, Cambridge Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Caden Martinez, who posted 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. The matchup was Martinez's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Lenardos, who scored six points and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Out-of-Door Academy had to start their season on the road last Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 66-30 defeat at the hands of Saint Stephen's Episcopal. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Thunder have suffered since January 8th.

Cambridge Christian will have to contain Allen Clark as he made an impact in Out-of-Door Academy's last game. He went 5-for-6 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cambridge Christian fell to 2-1. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Cambridge Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Out-of-Door Academy when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 38-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
