Basketball Recap: Burlington Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Burlington won against Santa Fe Trail last Monday with 45 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Burlington Wildcats beat the Santa Fe Trail Chargers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 45-17. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Burlington found their leader in sophomore Alexa Splechter, who posted eight points along with eight assists and five boards. Splechter also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Burlington is 10-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Grace Birk, who put up nine points.

Burlington is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Santa Fe Trail, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burlington will host Osawatomie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Fe Trail, they will be playing at home against Wellsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
