Softball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to the Altamont Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on Friday.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Altamont, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Monticello will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Milford at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milford's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Monticello's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Altamont, they will venture away from home to challenge Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
