Softball Recap: Southwest Louisiana Homeschool Has No Trouble Against Acadiana Christian

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Acadiana Christian Lions with a sharp 15-0 victory. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Eliza Long made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Alyse Sistrunk was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Cheryl Dishong was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Acadiana Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
