Miramar had won nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they bumped up to 4-1 to make it ten. They walked away with a 69-56 victory over the Cooper City Cowboys. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cowboys, too.

Miramar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Martell Smith out in front who posted 14 points and five boards. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Jayson Negrin was another key player, putting up 17 points and six rebounds.

Miramar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

As for Cooper City, they now have a losing record of 2-3. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cooper City's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Gonzalez, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Luka Jakopin, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Miramar has already played their next contest, a 72-39 victory against Somerset Academy Key on the 3rd. As for Cooper City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-60 win against Fort Lauderdale on the 2nd.
