Basketball Game Preview: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Shoals Jug Rox

Orleans is 9-1 against Shoals since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jug Rox at 7:30 p.m. Orleans will be strutting in after a win while Shoals will be coming in after a defeat.

Orleans is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. They blew past Salem 62-39. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Callie Alston went supernova, going 9-for-16 to rack up 20 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Those seven assists gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Dille, who posted nine points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Shoals was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Bloomfield, falling 60-36.

Everything came up roses for Orleans against Shoals in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 59-12 win. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Jug Rox have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
