Basketball Recap: New Life Christian Academy Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only New Life Christian Academy walked away with it. They came out on top against the NC GBB Academy Eagles by a score of 60-49 on Friday. 60 seems to be a good number for the Monarchs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Asany Richmond was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyle Baldwin, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.

New Life Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

New Life Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-17 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. NC GBB Academy's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

As of now, neither New Life Christian Academy nor NC GBB Academy have any future games scheduled.
