Recap: Huss Huskies vs. South Point Red Raiders
The Huss Huskies had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 76-66 victory over South Point on Friday. Huss' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huss to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zamarius 'Z-Man' Gladden, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gladden has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trimell Dunlap, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
South Point's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Petty, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Petty hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Graham Williams was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Huss' win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for South Point, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
Huss won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Butler at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. Butler is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.9 points per game. As for South Point, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Crest at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Crest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
