Basketball Recap: St. Martin's Episcopal Comes Up Short

St. Martin's Episcopal came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Thomas Jefferson, falling 75-50. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Thomas Jefferson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Rashad Stevenson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Thomas Jefferson, dropping a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Stevenson's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Charles Turner was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six steals and five assists.

St. Martin's Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Thomas Jefferson, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Martin's Episcopal will venture away from home to face off against Ascension Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will head out on the road to challenge Fisher at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fisher has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Thomas Jefferson will come in with six straight wins.
