Softball Recap: Washington Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It was a good run, but Washington Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 5-2 to the Mount View Mustangs. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Meadow Rohde was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rachel Keeton, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

Washington Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Mount View, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Looking ahead, Washington Academy will welcome George Stevens Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount View, they will head out on the road to take on Piscataquis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
