Basketball Game Preview: Lowndes Vikings vs. Thomasville Bulldogs

The Lowndes Vikings will head out to challenge the Thomasville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Saturday, Lowndes didn't have quite enough to beat Valdosta and fell 51-49. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Thomasville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Brookwood. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Thomasville's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4. As for Lowndes, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Lowndes came out on top in a nail-biter against Thomasville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 48-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lowndes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
