Softball Game Preview: Beaufort Eagles vs. Hanahan Hawks

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Beaufort Eagles challenge Hanahan Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hanahan took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Beaufort, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, Beaufort beat Battery Creek 6-2. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now won eight in a row.

Adalyn Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Arianna Smith, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Robinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Beaufort hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Battery Creek struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, Hanahan fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Fort Dorchester on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 11-8 to the Patriots. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Beaufort's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Hanahan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
