Baseball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central lost a heartbreaker to Clovis North when they met on Tuesday, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 5-3. The Grizzlies haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Ortiz, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Clovis North, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Central is set to face off against their familiar foe Clovis East at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clovis North will take on rival Buchanan at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Broncos 3, the Bears 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
