Basketball Recap: Ecorse Comes Up Short

Ecorse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Detroit Leadership Academy, falling 49-6.

Detroit Leadership Academy was led to victory by DANA HIGHTOWER and LILA PINKSTON. HIGHTOWER went 9 of 12 on her way to 18 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists, while PINKSTON almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which HIGHTOWER has scored at least a third of Detroit Leadership Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of TERRIANA CLAY, who posted eight points.

Detroit Leadership Academy's record now sits at 6-1.

Ecorse will square off against Detroit Public Safety Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Detroit Leadership Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-17 win against Northwestern on the 13th.
