Football Game Preview: Stuart W. Cramer Storm vs. Cherryville Ironmen + How To Watch

The Stuart W. Cramer Storm will head out to challenge the Cherryville Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cherryville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Stuart W. Cramer, who comes in off a win.

Stuart W. Cramer barely beat Lincolnton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Storm were the clear victors by a 45-21 margin over the Wolves on Friday. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Stuart W. Cramer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominick McCorkle, who rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown. Those 128 rushing yards gave McCorkle a new career-high. Clee Phillips was in the mix too, providing Stuart W. Cramer with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stuart W. Cramer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

Stuart W. Cramer didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Chris Wurster, Landon Lee, and Blake Wilkinson picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Cherryville played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 38-6 loss at the hands of Burns. While losing is never fun, the Ironmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 98th).

Stuart W. Cramer's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Cherryville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Stuart W. Cramer strolled past Cherryville when the teams last played back in August of 2016 by a score of 20-6. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Ironmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
