Game recap: Delphi Community High School Football Team takes down Hammond Gavit

HAMMOND, Ind. - Delphi Community (Delphi, Ind.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 12-6 victory over Hammond Gavit (Hammond, Ind.) on Saturday. The Oracles took the lead for good when Garrett Johnson ran for a touchdown.

The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at six. The Oracles took the lead indefinitely on a touchdown run by Johnson in the fourth quarter.

Hammond Gavit's lone touchdown came on a 6-yard run by Dante Adams in the first quarter.

Delphi Community entered the contest giving up 29.4 points per game this year.



The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Gladiators took, 35-14.

The loss comes after Hammond Gavit defeated Gary Roosevelt 42-0 last week.
