Softball Recap: Pace Patriots vs. Niceville Eagles
On Thursday Pace's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Niceville Eagles. The one-run effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Niceville's batters probably weren't too happy with Hannah DeMarcus, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 33 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Those 33 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for DeMarcus.
On the hitting side, Pace's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Cox, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base. Laila Loomis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
