Baseball Game Preview: Rangely Panthers vs. Meeker Cowboys

The Rangely Panthers will challenge the Meeker Cowboys at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rangely has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Rangely after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 14-4 to North Fork. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rangely saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcos Quintana, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Quintana a new career-high. Bradley Lambros also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Meeker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Salida, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Cowboys have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meeker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rangely, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Rangely suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Meeker in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Rangely avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
