Basketball Recap: Merrimack Comes Up Short

Merrimack was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Bedford Bulldogs 70-21. While losing is never fun, the Tomahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked first).

Merrimack's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Bedford, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merrimack will head out to square off against Nashua South at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Merrimack is facing Nashua South at the right time seeing as Nashua South is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bedford, they will head out on the road to face off against Windham at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Windham has won five straight at home, while Bedford won 13 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
