Basketball Recap: Claire Lutter Key Part of a Team Effort in Blue Devils Win

Wayne lost to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Wayne Blue Devils came out on top against the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears by a score of 48-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Lutter led the charge by going 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Lutter has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Kramer, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaida Eriksen, who had 12 points. Another player making a difference was Carlie Kvols, who put up eight points.

The victory got Wayne back to even at 4-4. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Wayne is taking a road trip to challenge Lakeview at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pierce at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.
