Football Game Preview: Granite Hills Cougars vs. Adelanto Saints

Granite Hills is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will look to defend their home field against the Adelanto Saints at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Granite Hills ended up a good deal behind Vista del Lago and lost 40-21. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Granite Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Aamir Sneed, Lamar Willis, and Quincey Lockhart picked up one apiece. Willis also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Meanwhile, Adelanto played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 45-14 loss at the hands of Santiago. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 667th, while the Sharks are ranked 281st).

Adelanto's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Granite Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Granite Hills strolled past Adelanto in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 14-0. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
