Baseball Recap: Coachella Valley's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Coachella Valley entered their tilt with Yucca Valley on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Trojans 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Mighty Arabs, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jesus Rivera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Coachella Valley is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Dominic Alba was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Bryan Barraza was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coachella Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Yucca Valley, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Coachella Valley beat the Trojans by a score of 16-5 on Thursday.
