Baseball Recap: Rye Neck Comes Up Short

Rye Neck lost against Pelham Memorial on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers fell 16-11 to the Pelicans. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ben Gellman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Chris Cervantes was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two doubles.

Rye Neck's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pelham Memorial, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, Rye Neck will welcome Eastchester at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Pelham Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
