Palm Bay (Melbourne, Fla.) put up seven points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 30-6 victory over
Port St. Lucie (Fla.).
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, the Pirates led 9-0 at the half.
Palm Bay grew its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. PB scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
Port St. Lucie's only touchdown came on a 6-yard run by
Tyrell Moring in the third quarter.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Melbourne school, which was coming off a 24-13 defeat at the hands of Vero Beach in its previous game.
Palm Bay (1-1) will play a non-conference game against Heritage next week, while Port St. Lucie (0-2) will take on Treasure Coast also in a non-conference game.
