Basketball Recap: Marquette Has No Trouble Against Calamus-Wheatland

Marquette hadn't done well against Calamus-Wheatland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Marquette Defenders took down the Calamus-Wheatland Warriors 72-53. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-30 back in December of 2024.

Marquette is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Calamus-Wheatland, they moved to 13-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Marquette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-58 defeat against Bellevue on the 1st. Calamus-Wheatland has also already played their next game, a 52-50 victory against Durant on the 3rd.
