Mesa Ridge entered their tilt with Canon City on Thursday with 15 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 16. They put the hurt on the Canon City Tigers with a sharp 67-45 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-42 back in January.

Leading Mesa Ridge to victory were Zander Iwanski and J'Marius Jones. Iwanski went 6 of 8 to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds, while Jones went 8 for 11 en route to 17 points and six assists. Thanks to that strong game, Iwanski now owns an excellent 46.7% shooting accuracy. Jaxon Auger was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.

Mesa Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canon City only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Canon City lost, don't look at Brehner Jackson. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points. Jackson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Rowan Cooper also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

Mesa Ridge's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points over those games. As for Canon City, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Mesa Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-51 win against Discovery Canyon on the 8th. As for Canon City, they will venture away from home to square off against Widefield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
