Preview: Pathway Christian vs. Galesburg Christian Lions
Pathway Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Galesburg Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pathway Christian is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Pathway Christian suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Friday. They were beaten by Quad Cities Christian 61-24. While losing is never fun, Pathway Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 708th in Iowa, while Quad Cities Christian is ranked 300th in Illinois).
Despite the loss, Pathway Christian had strong showings from Denver Nelson, who scored five points along with four steals, and Ryker Miller, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Galesburg Christian suffered a rough 61-37 loss at the hands of Morning Star Academy last Friday. Galesburg Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.
Pathway Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Galesburg Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Pathway Christian couldn't quite finish off Galesburg Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 51-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Galesburg Christian's Andrew Summers, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 rebounds.
