Baseball Recap: University Christian Christians vs. St. Johns Country Day Spartans
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact University Christian can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Johns Country Day Spartans by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Monday.
Corey Wimberly was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Dustin Tharp was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for University Christian and nudges their season record down to 21-11. As for St. Johns Country Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.
As of now, neither University Christian nor St. Johns Country Day have any future games scheduled.
