Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Hoke County's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Hoke County got themselves on the board against Southern Lee on Monday, but Southern Lee never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Bucks have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bailey Mass was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. McKenzie Freeman was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hoke County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.

Hoke County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Lee, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Looking ahead, Hoke County will be playing in front of their home fans against Union Pines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bucks will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least ten runs in their last six matchups. Southern Lee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
