Volleyball Recap: Crescent City Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Crescent City suffered their biggest defeat since August 28th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the St. Joseph Academy Flashes. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flashes earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-18, 25-18.

Parker Bornstein paced Crescent City's offense, picking up five kills. Bornstein got some help from Gracie Roberson and her five assists. Logan Bornstein controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. Joseph Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addy Mira, who had 18 digs. Mira has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Suzi Valbuena, who had 17 assists and five digs.

The loss snapped Crescent City's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 10-6 record. As for St. Joseph Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Crescent City will square off against Clay at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will take on Palatka at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
