Baseball Game Preview: Rivercrest Rebels vs. McLeod Longhorns

Rivercrest is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to face off against the McLeod Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. Rivercrest has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Rivercrest is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs last Friday, they were much more limited against Union Grove on Friday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 18-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rebels have suffered since March 22, 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins dating back to last season, McLeod's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They lost 13-7 to New Boston.

Rivercrest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for McLeod, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Rivercrest couldn't quite finish off McLeod when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Rivercrest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
