Baseball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

If Columbia was riding high fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Wharton on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roughnecks fell just short of the Brazos Cougars by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Roughnecks have suffered since February 27th.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10-2. As for Brazos, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Columbia will take on Needville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brazos, they will challenge East Bernard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Brahmas have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
