HEM had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Midwest Oilers 60-12. The win continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won three in a row.

Naythen Atencio had an outrageously good game as he picked up 106 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 32 yards. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. HEM will venture away from home to square off against Hulett at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Midwest, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Guernsey-Sunrise at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th.
