The matchup between Belmont and Meadowdale on Wednesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bison blew past the Lions 18-2. Considering the Bison have won four games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaiden Burrell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and eight RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rae' Nelson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She also put up a hit, which was her first of the season. Courtney Jernigan was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Belmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was the third in a row for Belmont, bringing their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Meadowdale, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Belmont will challenge Catholic Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Meadowdale, they will square off against Middletown Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
