Basketball Recap: Washington Township Finds Playoff Glory Versus Kouts

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Washington Township had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-37 victory over the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-46 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington Township to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklyn Campbell, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gracie Little, who posted 13 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Washington Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Kouts lost, don't look at Sophia Tikalsky. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Tikalsky a new career-high in blocks (two). Ellie Nemeth was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Washington Township and bumps their season record up to 12-9. As for Kouts, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Washington Township has already played their next game, a 51-36 victory against Morgan Township on the 7th. Kouts does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
