William Monroe lost to Spotswood back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Dragons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Trailblazers.

William Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Spotswood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.

Coincidentally, William Monroe and Spotswood will both be playing Rockbridge County the next time they take the field. The Trailblazers will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Dragons will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
