Softball Recap: Whitesboro Bearcats vs. Pilot Point Bearcats
Whitesboro got themselves on the board against Pilot Point on Thursday, but Pilot Point never followed suit. They put the hurt on Pilot Point with a sharp 17-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Whitesboro in their matchups with Pilot Point: they've now won eight in a row.
Avery Howerton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
