Basketball Recap: Overton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Center Hill last Saturday, Overton came back down to earth. The Overton Wolverines lost 61-37 to the Alton Redbirds on Thursday. The matchup marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Overton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Alton, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Overton will head out to take on Center Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Alton, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Evanston at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Alton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Evanston likes a good challenge.
