Preview: Georgetown G-Men vs. Williamsburg Wildcats
The Georgetown G-Men will head out on the road to challenge the Williamsburg Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Georgetown strolled past Felicity-Franklin with points to spare, taking the game 55-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Georgetown.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They managed a 53-48 victory over Clermont Northeastern. Given Williamsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Clermont Northeastern is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The win got Georgetown back to even at 6-6. As for Williamsburg, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Georgetown came up short against Williamsburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 55-47. Can Georgetown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
