Baseball Game Preview: Palmyra Cougars vs. Elizabethtown Bears

The Palmyra Cougars will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Elizabethtown Bears at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Palmyra is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Wyoming Valley West. Palmyra blew past Wyoming Valley West 9-1 on Saturday.

Jonathan Strohecker looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Nate Osteen and Julian Meley did most of the damage at the plate: Osteen scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Meley scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Osteen a new career-high in hits. Tyler Peck was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Elizabethtown owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against Red Lion by a score of 3-0.
