Basketball Recap: Fellowship Academy Comes Up Short

Fellowship Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Victory Baptist Academy Patriots, falling 65-31. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Coleton Ruhl went supernova for Victory Baptist Academy, going 7 for 9 on his way to 18 points and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Isaac Johnson, who went 7 of 11 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Fellowship Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Victory Baptist Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Fellowship Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Covenant Classical at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-36 defeat against Varsity Opponent on the 17th.
