La Serna is a perfect 10-0 against California since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Condors at 7:00 p.m. La Serna will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
On Friday, La Serna didn't have too much trouble with Santa Fe as they won 35-20. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
La Serna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grady Long led the charge by throwing for 186 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 32 yards. Jordan Bonilla was another key rusher, rushing for 111 yards and one score on only 11 carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something La Serna proved: they limited Santa Fe to a paltry -2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Nolan Allison for the heroic effort on defense: he. La Serna's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.78 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.67 on average over their last five games.

La Serna's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Allison was especially locked on to Santa Fe's QB and sacked him twice. Allison also made seven total tackles, which is notable because La Serna is undefeated when he posts at least four total tackles, but 2-3 otherwise.
Meanwhile, while it was California who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was El Rancho who put up more. The Condors received a blow as they fell 35-21 to the Dons. The Condors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Andrew Robledo and Braylon Morrison. Morrison had a great game and rushed for 227 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. Meanwhile, Robledo did his best for the losing side, rushing for 106 yards on only 11 carries.
La Serna's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for California, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Everything came up roses for La Serna against California in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 70-14 victory. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Condors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
