Soccer Recap: Hickory Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Hickory finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Mercer Mustangs. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Hickory struggled afterwards.

Hickory moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mercer, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory will challenge Slippery Rock at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Mercer, they will take on Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
