Volleyball Recap: Davis Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kate Donigan and Claire Shupe

If Davis was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Layton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Darts fell 3-1 to the Weber Warriors on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 17-25, 25-17, 25-10.

Claire Shupe and Kate Donigan certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Shupe had six digs and two aces, while Donigan had eight assists and three digs.

Weber's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Halee Zabriskie led the charge by getting 17 assists and five digs.

Davis' defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Weber, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Davis will face off against rival Farmington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Weber is set to square off against their familiar foe Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
