Soccer Game Preview: Galt vs. Argonaut

The Galt Warriors will square off against the Argonaut Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Galt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Galt's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Amador with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Amador from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Giovanni De Leon led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Argonaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 13-0 to Bradshaw Christian. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1103rd, while the The Pride are ranked 373rd).

Galt is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those nine games. As for Argonaut, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10-1.

Everything went Galt's way against Argonaut in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, as Galt made off with a 17-0 win. Will Galt repeat their success, or does Argonaut have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
