Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Patriots vs. Rio Vikings

The Heritage Christian Patriots will challenge the Rio Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Last Thursday, Heritage Christian beat Kenosha Christian Life 5-2.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Rio brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Montello on Tuesday, sneaking past 14-13. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jack Becker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Becker was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Rio's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 0-14 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Rio got a massive performance out of Miles Hall, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave Hall a new career-high. Nolan Proebstle was another key player, earning three runs and four stolen bases.

Rio's win bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Heritage Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
