Football Game Preview: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. Palmetto Christian Academy

The Holly Hill Academy Raiders will square off against Palmetto Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holly Hill Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Holly Hill Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Cathedral Academy, who was ranked eighth at the time (Holly Hill Academy was ranked first). The Raiders were the clear victors by a 40-18 margin over the Generals on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won four contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Parker Kizer produced another solid effort rushing for 288 yards and three scores while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards. Jake Kirven was another key player, rushing for 99 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Holly Hill Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 400 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Palmetto Christian Academy fell victim to King's Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. The matchup between Palmetto Christian Academy and the Lions didn't end well, with Palmetto Christian Academy falling 14-0. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, Palmetto Christian Academy's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Palmetto Christian Academy dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Holly Hill Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Holly Hill Academy against Palmetto Christian Academy when the teams last played back in August, as the team secured a 56-22 win.
