Basketball Recap: Burns Sci-Tech Takes a Loss

Burns Sci-Tech had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 7-14 to make it six. The game between the Eagles and the Crooms Academy Panthers didn't end well, with the Eagles falling 67-52. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 19-11 in the first quarter.

As for Crooms Academy, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their 30-point performance the contest before.

Crooms Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Graydon Gilllum, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Gilllum has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zayn Abounnaim, who posted 20 points and three steals.

Coming up, Burns Sci-Tech will challenge Brevard HEAT at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crooms Academy, they will take on Elite Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
