Volleyball Recap: Diego Allievi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Valley over Temescal Canyon

After flying high against San Jacinto Leadership Academy last Tuesday, West Valley came back down to earth. West Valley came up short against the Temescal Canyon Titans on Friday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While West Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15, 25-18.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Diego Allievi, who had seven kills, five digs, two aces, and one block. Allievi is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlvin Valdez, who had 16 assists and five digs.

West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Temescal Canyon, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

West Valley will welcome Elsinore at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Temescal Canyon, they will venture away from home to face off against Norco at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
