Liberty will bounce into Friday's match after beating Heritage, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Redhawks put the hurt on the Coyotes with a sharp 17-0 victory on Tuesday. The Redhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Addison Hanson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).
In other batting news, Adeline Glatch was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Madison Terry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Independence came up short against Memorial on Tuesday, falling 18-5. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Megan McCADDEN was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Kamryn BLOODWORTH also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Liberty, their record now sits at 12-5.
Independence's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Liberty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Independence, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Liberty keep running through batters, or will the Knights buck the trend?
Liberty took their win against Independence in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
